💡 You’re Doing Great—Now Here’s a Plan On How to Grow Without a Website
This is the most intensive results page—so stick with me until the end. It’s packed with tips, tactics, and strategies you can use right now to grow your business organically without a website. When the time is right (like when you’re ready to sell your first e-book, course, or product), you’ll already have the foundation in place to make the leap.
Right now, the key is to choose one platform and go all in. Let’s break it down by platform and industry so you can focus your energy where it counts.
Platform Recommendations and Tips for Conquering Each
Best for: Photographers, hospitality and tourism businesses, and product-based brands.
- Instagram recently announced they’re moving away from #hashtags—replace them now with keywords and keyword phrases
- Add a keyword into your profile line (aka the SEO line). Ideal format:
Your Name + Keyword. - Leverage Reels. In 2024, reels perform best, followed by carousels, then photos.
- Turn on IG essential settings, like Suggested Accounts, and refresh your browsing history, etc.
Best for: Client-based services, consultants, and B2B professionals.
The most underpriced attention on the internet right now. LinkedIn is no longer just a recruitment site,
it’s a social platform that can seriously elevate your game.
- Optimize your profile with keywords to appear in searches.
- Create an eye-catching banner image with Canva to clearly convey what you do and offer.
- Post or share thought leadership content, adding your personal take if resharing.
- Find your people and engage meaningfully with their posts and content.
Best for: Designers, lifestyle brands, and bloggers.
What most people don’t know about Pinterest is that it’s a search engine just like Google meaning it’s evergreen
*lives for ever and you can go viral at any time.
Top 3 Tips:
- Pin consistently. Best practice: at least 5 fresh pins per week.
- Exhaust one content pillar before moving on to the next.
- Use keyword-rich descriptions and titles for your pins.
- Create visually compelling graphics that drive clicks to your landing pages, offers or resources.
*extra brownie points if you ask for their email or to opt-in
YouTube/TikTok (Videos)
Best for: Fitness instructors, bands, content creators, and event planners.
- Focus on YouTube Shorts—they’re outperforming long-form content.
- Spend more time on your thumbnails than you think—it’s worth it.
- On TikTok, add keywords to the text on screen to maximize searchability.
Google My Business (GMB)
Best for: Restaurants, brick-and-mortar stores, and local service providers.
- If you haven’t claimed your business STOP everything, and do this right now. Google your business name and check. You should see “You Manage This Business.” If it says “Own This Business?” claim it immediately because someone else can!
TIP: Do this from inside your physical location on your phone so you’re instantly verified. - Add products, links to menus, tickets to events, or promotional posts regularly.
- Post often—you’d be surprised how effective this is. When we got serious about GMB for Nazare Coworking, the results were incredible (and a bit embarrassing that it took us too long to prioritize it).
Newsletters
Best for: Coaches, consultants, e-commerce brands, and writers.
The only thing you truly own. Everywhere else, you’re just renting space.
- Offer a valuable lead magnet to grow your list.
- Keep emails concise and action-oriented.
- Use storytelling to connect and build trust with your audience.
- Be consistent. Set up a content plan so you always know what to write. Without a plan, you’ll write nothing.
- You can still start for free with Mailchimp, but WARNING: After 500 contacts, costs skyrocket. Have an exit strategy ready.
